Chris "EyeQ" Allen
NPCC Member EyeQ is an indie hip hop artist, visionary, emcee whose musical sights are set on merging his wide assortment of musical influences and love for anime into one powerhouse perfomance. Raised in Brooklyn, NY, the now Florida-based emcee has shared the stage with the likes of Doug Wimbish: legendary bassist for Living Colour, DiViNCi from Solillaquists of Sound, Mega Ran, MC Lars, Schaffer the Darkload, Sammus, Fresh Kils, founder of Grind time now Madd Illz, Eturn an SPS and many more. He is as busy in the studio as he is on the stage. Known for his Attack on Titan themed album Walls of Maria, he is currently working on his next album and has been collaberating on tracks with artists like Richie Branson, Mega Ran and Ben Briggs, and has work with the Nerdcore Super group RPG-Unit who’s debut album Rock Paper Genocide was featured on the front page of Kotaku, and Bandcamp, and also gained the acclaim of Randy Pictford and Gearbox.
EyeQ has since performed at events such as Nerdapoalooza, AFO, The Orlando Earthday Festival, headlined Omni Expo 2015. He’s played the Florida Music Festival, Orlando Nerd fest 2014 and 2015, SXSW 2016, Magfest 2016 Anime Expo 2016, and Otakon 2016. He was also nominated by the Orlando Weekly for Orlando's Best Hip Hop Artist of the Year award in 2016 and again in 2017. Influenced by greats like Stevie Wonder, Nujabes, Lupe Fiasco, Anita Baker with a dash of golden-age jazz and old school hip hop. With each project, he combines his various loves: drawing from his love of anime, video games, soul music, classical, and jazz to influence the outcome. His roots shine through on radio and live as he exudes an energy and passion that can not be mistaken.
