My Creative Entrepreneurship Journey and a New Blog Interview Series

Good morning and Happy Hump Day, ya’ll! I’m stopping by to say a quick word of #WednesdayMotivation on creative entrepreneurship and to get you excited for my new blog series coming in the next several weeks. To paraphrase global entrepreneur and current social media badass Gary Vaynerchuk, let’s go!,
Since embarking on the creative entrepreneurship journey that is FreelanceMikey, I’ve been inspired on a daily basis. I starting out by doing relatively small jobs with big impacts and because of that work, where so many other people live for the weekend, I’ve learned to treat my weekdays as days to be lived and not loathed. I spend my days helping ambitious people fulfill their need to get their creative ideas out into the world and I’m thankful for it every day. From creative writing and editing work assisting clients with plays, screenplays, memoirs and novels, to the more specific personal one-on-one creative consulting helping propel my clients’ personal and professional confidence, each job and each client gives me a practical and consistent sense of purpose in what I do—not just as a creative entrepreneur but as an air-breathing human being who likes to help people. To this point, I think my music and audio mixing work has been one of the most rewarding parts of my creative work: making music mixes and mashups for personal use for everything from wedding songs to dance recitals—and even a routine for America’s Got Talent got wrangled in there somewhere. In all cases, I get the great privilege to help my clients dream just a little bigger and express a deep love for what they’re doing. It’s a rich reward that I will never ever take for granted in the least.
With each of these successive freelance adventures though, I’ve had to step back and take a sort of panoramic view of my life. It’s created a lifestyle that first started because I couldn’t drive myself to work because of the limitations placed on me by my cerebral palsy. However, I never thought it would be this cool! In the coming weeks and months, I’ll be starting a blog series interviewing artists and creative mavericks and mavens from all over the world. Each blog post in the series will be a conversation into the minds and personalities of the people who inspire us the most by just being themselves in the most authentic ways they know how. The blog series doesn’t have a name yet, but stay tuned! A good blog series by any other name is still a pretty dope blog series! Still, creative entrepreneurship, as with any business. is never built in day.
In the past few weeks alone, I’ve met several brilliant and dynamic people who are ready to share some fantastic, imaginative, motivational, and meditative insights into what drives them to keep dreaming and exploring as creative entrepreneurs, artists, business owners, and generally jilted rebellious makers of creative entrepreneurship magic who go out into the world on a regular basis and create from the depths of who they are and inspire all of us to be more than many of us ever thought we could be.
Updates on the blog series and more blog posts will be coming in the next few weeks. Thanks for stopping by.
